This YouTuber capitalized on… key fobs?

The other day, I was replacing the batteries in my wife’s key fob. From experience, I knew these things are trickier than you might expect, so I pulled up a YouTube video to see exactly how it’s done:

But this time—for some reason—I decided to click into the YouTube channel. (Maybe the name caught my attention. “Key Fob Rob!”)

And what I saw… amazed me.

It… INSPIRED me:

Over 1,000 videos!!! Of—presumably—tutorials on how to replace the batteries in key fobs.

And these videos have been doing NUMBERS. Over 85 million views overall on his channel.

Which makes sense, because they’re genuinely useful. A short tutorial is exactly what MILLIONS of car owners need. And a lot will need these videos at some point.

Brilliant.

And besides making money on YouTube, he also makes money with Amazon affiliate links:

I don’t know how much money he’s making off this YouTube channel, but I like to imagine it’s a boatload. In fact, I like to imagine him chilling right now on a yacht, surrounded by key fobs. Living a life of luxury, all thanks to his key fob empire.

How does he even obtain all these car keys anyway!? Does he work in a garage or something? Somebody should interview this guy!

Why this inspires me

Rob saw an opportunity and ran with it.

He saw a gap and filled it.

What other gaps are out there? How can we apply this initiative to our own lives?

What’s something NEW that we can dive in and take advantage of?

Obviously, AI comes to mind. That’s the hot new gold rush. The groundbreaking technology that will change the world (similar to how the internet changed the world.)

That’s exciting to think about.

Nobody has the answers. AI is brand new and we’re all on the same playing field.

There’s no AI Key Fob Guy… YET. 🤔

Will it be you?
