My favorite video ever on presenting

Check out this video from Creative Director/Entrepreneur Chris Do about self-acceptance and letting go of ego:

“How can I be comfortable standing in and to talk in front of you?

Here's the thing I'm actively standing here thinking right now: I wish you all well. I wish I could help.

I killed my own ego. It’s not about me. It’s not about being the star up on the stage and saying things and being really smart or having wonderful charming stories to share with everybody. It’s about just wanting to help people.

Don’t get in your head. If the ego comes up, just kill it and just be of service to people.

This is one of the most empowering things that can tell you.

I walk into rooms much scarier than the one I'm looking at right now. Rooms of older men making really big decisions and writing really big paychecks, and I have to be able to be comfortable around them.

So the way I disarm myself is to think: I'm here I'll try to help. I don't know anymore than any of you. And if I could be of service, let's do this.

This gets me out of this mindset of selling, of proving myself, of trying to sound smarter than I am.”

This video taught me that my #1 purpose is to be of service to people. I’m just here to help.

Forget all about “impressing” people. Throw away the fancy words. Nobody cares what I wear, or if I have a nasally voice and a big red pimple on my face.

NONE of that matters if I’m genuinely here to HELP.
